# Monitor the Laravel scheduler with HookPulse pings

The Laravel scheduler pings HookPulse before the command, on success and on failure. No package needed.

## Step 1. Create the monitor

Add a routine named laravel-backup and set how often the job runs. Its page shows the check-in URL: use it in place of https://hookpulse.net/in/YOUR_ID.

## Step 2. Add the pings to the scheduled command

pingBefore marks the start, so HookPulse also measures how long each run takes.

```
// routes/console.php (Laravel 11)
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\Schedule;
Schedule::command('backup:run')
    ->dailyAt('03:00')
    ->pingBefore('https://hookpulse.net/in/YOUR_ID/start')
    ->pingOnSuccess('https://hookpulse.net/in/YOUR_ID')
    ->pingOnFailure('https://hookpulse.net/in/YOUR_ID/fail');
```

## Step 3. Run it once

Run php artisan schedule:test and choose the command. The routine shows the first check-in. From then on, a missed or failed run sends the alert.
